Trust & Safety

Trust & Safety

PacSecur's community model depends on trust. This guide explains how PacSecur establishes and maintains trust through identity verification, secure communication, privacy controls, community accountability, and dispute resolution.

Trust & Safety Overview

PacSecur connects strangers — Package Owners and Guardians — in a transaction that requires a meaningful level of trust. A Package Owner trusts a Guardian with their delivery address and their packages. A Guardian trusts that the Package Owner will pick up their package and that the platform will process their payment.

PacSecur builds this trust through a layered system of verification, accountability, and protection. Every element of the platform's trust and safety framework is designed to make both sides of the transaction safe, reliable, and fair.

Identity Verification

Identity verification is the foundation of PacSecur's trust system. All Guardians are required to submit a government-issued photo ID before they can accept requests. This ensures that every Guardian is a real, identified person — not an anonymous account.

  • Required for all Guardians: No Guardian can accept requests without completing identity verification. This is a non-negotiable requirement.
  • Government-issued ID: Accepted documents include driver's licenses, state IDs, and passports. The ID must be current and valid.
  • Encrypted storage: ID documents are stored in encrypted private storage on PacSecur's servers. They are not shared with Package Owners or other users.
  • Staff review: PacSecur staff review each application and ID document before approving a Guardian.
  • Ongoing accountability: Verified identity is linked to the Guardian's account and rating history, creating ongoing accountability.

Data Privacy and Information Sharing

PacSecur collects only the information necessary to operate the platform and shares only what is needed to complete each transaction.

Secure Communication

All communication between Package Owners and Guardians takes place within the PacSecur platform. Personal contact information — phone numbers, email addresses — is not shared between parties unless both users choose to share it.

Platform messaging creates a record of all communications, which is available to both parties and to PacSecur support in the event of a dispute. This protects both parties and ensures that all agreements are documented.

Community Accountability

PacSecur's mutual rating system creates accountability on both sides of every transaction. After each completed transaction, both the Package Owner and Guardian can leave a star rating and written feedback.

  • Ratings are visible to future transaction partners before they confirm a match
  • High-rated Guardians receive greater visibility in the matching system
  • Low-rated users receive fewer matches and may be reviewed by PacSecur staff
  • Patterns of poor ratings or policy violations result in account review or removal
  • Both Package Owners and Guardians are accountable — not just Guardians

Dispute Resolution

PacSecur provides a formal dispute resolution process for cases where something goes wrong — a package is lost, damaged, or a transaction is not completed as agreed.

  1. 1
Submit a dispute: Either party can submit a dispute through the platform. Provide details about the issue and any supporting evidence (photos, messages, etc.).
  2. 2
PacSecur review: PacSecur staff review the dispute, communicate with both parties, and gather additional information as needed.
  3. 3
Resolution: PacSecur determines an appropriate resolution, which may include refunds, compensation adjustments, or account actions.
  4. 4
Appeal: If a party disagrees with the resolution, they can appeal through the platform.
