PacSecur's Background Check Process: What We Screen For

Beyond ID verification, PacSecur screens for criminal history relevant to package handling. Here's what we check and how results affect applications.

PacSecur's Background Check Process: What We Screen For

Why Identity Verification Matters

When you request a Guardian to hold your packages, you're inviting a neighbor into a trusted role. PacSecur's verification process is designed to confirm that every Guardian is who they say they are — giving you confidence before your first delivery ever arrives.

What PacSecur Verifies

PacSecur's identity verification process confirms the following for every Guardian applicant:

  • Government-issued ID: Applicants submit a photo of a valid, unexpired government-issued ID. The document is reviewed to confirm it matches the applicant's account information.
  • Name and date of birth: The name and date of birth on the submitted ID must match the information provided during account creation.
  • Address confirmation: Applicants confirm a service address — the location where they will receive and hold packages on behalf of owners.
  • Phone verification: A verified phone number is required to complete the Guardian application and receive delivery notifications.

The Review Process

After an applicant submits their ID and completes their profile, a PacSecur team member reviews the submission. Applications are not automatically approved — each one is individually assessed before a Guardian status is granted.

If the submitted document is unclear, expired, or does not match the account information, the applicant is notified and given the opportunity to resubmit. Applications that cannot be verified are declined.

What Happens After Approval

Once approved, a Guardian's profile is marked as verified. Package owners can see this verification status when browsing available Guardians in their area. Verified status is displayed on the Guardian's profile and is visible throughout the booking process.

Verification is not permanent. PacSecur reserves the right to re-verify Guardians periodically or in response to account activity that warrants a review.

Reporting Concerns

If you have a concern about a Guardian's identity or conduct, you can report it directly through the platform. PacSecur reviews all reports and takes appropriate action, which may include suspending or removing a Guardian's verified status.

Questions about the verification process can be directed to PacSecur's support team through the Help section of your account.
